DID YOU KNOW BEING KIND IS GOOD FOR THE HEART AND CAUSES THE REWARD CENTRES IN YOUR BRAIN TO LIGHTEN UP?
Besides being good for the world, Kindness is extremely useful to us as well. Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem and improve the mood. Studies have shown that kindness can decrease blood pressure and stress hormones leading to a better heart health. Being kind can boost levels of oxytocin, called “the love hormone” which can reduce inflammation and blood pressure. An act of kindness releases hormones that bolster our cardiovascular system, affecting your risk of heart attack and stroke. Kindness can also impact loneliness and can change you positively.
Being kind boosts serotonin and dopamine, which work as neurotransmitters in the brain, providing feelings of satisfaction and well-being, causing the reward centres in the brain to lighten up. Moreover, hormones such as Endorphins are also released which are the body’s natural pain killers.Kindness is a catalyst for the kind of positive change we need in the world. It will always be the most beautiful forces that will exist in the entire world.
“Kindness is free. Sprinkle that stuff everywhere.”
At IDare2Bee we take being kind seriously. We believe that when we intentionally think kind thoughts it can shift a negative situation into a positive one. Next time you are facing a situation where you have a choice to take a kind action try it. Not only will someone else benefit but your heart and mind will too.
Our programs at IDareU2Bee focus on developing skills to boost your kindness, so together we can build humankind.
