What does GRATEFUL mean? The definition of GRATEFUL is feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness.
Being GRATEFUL is the mega superpower to make anything happen and is the perfect partner for kinder minds. Yet sometimes we overlook being grateful especially when it is not easy. As you begin Day 15 of our KINDolutions challenge, GRATITUDE will play a BIG PART in how you participate.
There are countless studies on why being grateful is important. From helping the body regulate the stress hormone cortisol to improving our cardiac function and improving our mental health. These benefits are always available to you and yet the best reason why being grateful is so important in your life is that it allows you to be happy especially when times are tough; and, when you demonstrate gratefulness towards others, they experience joy and a feeling of thinking they matter. Think about how often you go through your day-to-day life forgetting to be grateful for what and who you have in your life. How often do you assume others do not need to be reminded how grateful you are and you take them for granted? Gratefulness is the miracle tool needed when relationships are not working or when life circumstances seem overwhelming. The next time you feel as if you can’t catch a break, take a moment and remember all the little things you have to be grateful for, and more importantly, think about all the people in your life who have impacted you in a positive way.

Why are you NOT willing to make a list and acknowledge all that you are grateful for?
Think about what may be preventing you from acknowledging all that you are grateful for. This is not easy to do, yet we encourage you to write your answers on a piece of paper or in your journal. PS. Hint: What are you disappointed about?
- Write on a piece of paper or in your journal who and what you are grateful for and then go and tell those people.
- Write out how being grateful can make you a kinder person.
NOW make today the start of practicing being grateful and witness how when you are grateful you feel happier and more alive.
