KINDolution Day 17 – MINDFUL

KINDolution Day 17 – MINDFUL

MINDFUL

“Many people are alive but don’t touch the miracle of being alive.” – Thích Nhất Hạnh

What does being MINDFUL mean? The definition of being MINDFUL is the practice of maintaining a non-judgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis

Being MINDFUL is one of the hardest things to do as we are so occupied with 1000 different thoughts every hour of the day yet as you begin Day 17 of our KINDolutions challenge, being MINDFUL will play a BIG PART in how you participate.

Have you ever tried to shut off all the words floating around in your head? Or find you are having a conversation with yourself during a time you are actually supposed to be focused on something else? Did you know that the average person has approximately 2500 thoughts per hour?  With all those thoughts, it is no surprise we have trouble giving the people we care about the attention they deserve when they are conversing with us about what matters to them. Being mindful is the ability to be present with people, to listen without judgement, and to always be aware of the emotions you and they are having. One of the greatest gifts we can give to others is our undivided attention. Because when we stop multitasking and give someone all of our focus it shows that they are important to us. Kindness and mindfulness go hand in hand and often it is difficult to be kind when your mind is focused on many things at once.

At www.idareu2bee.com we are focused on developing all people to have kind minds, and the quickest way to achieve that is by acknowledging that we can all work on practicing mindfulness with everyone and everything we experience.

Today we challenge you to do a KINDNESS ASSESSMENT. The assessment is simple and at times you may struggle, yet this is where your MIGHTY COURAGE kicks in.

Do not give up, do not give in because building your kindness superpowers will have you win!

Get Ready, Get Set and GROW forward with your GIGANTIC KIND HEART.

KINDNESS ASSESSMENT DAY 17

STEP 1

  1. Are you willing to practice being mindful and noticing when you drift off and do not pay attention when you are having conversations with the people in your life?

If YOU ANSWERED YES, GREAT! Scroll down to STEP 2.

If YOU ANSWERED NO, stay right here and ask yourself this question.

Why are you NOT willing to acknowledge when you are being distracted and not paying attention when you are with other people in a conversation?

Think about what may be preventing you from practicing being mindful. This is not easy to do, yet we encourage you to write your answers on a piece of paper or in your journal.

STEP 2

  1. Write on a piece of paper or in your journal the times you remember not paying attention to others when you are with them. Also write about how you feel when you think people are not being mindful of you.

AND

  1. Write out how being mindful can make you a kinder person.

NOW make today the start of practicing being mindful and begin to experience how your relationships become more important as the people in your life feel that you care and are interested in what they have to say and share with you.

Thank you for participating in the Day 17 of the 2022 KINDolution challenge.
