ATTENTIVE
“True beauty is a warm heart, a kind soul, and an attentive ear.”
What does ATTENTIVE mean?
The definition of ATTENTIVE is paying close attention to something.
Being attentive is not always easy and as we begin Day 6 of our KINDolutions challenge, attentiveness will play a BIG PART in how you participate.
Being attentive towards others is one of the best ways to be kind. Paying attention to people’s feelings, emotions, and behaviour will help you realize when someone needs your compassion and understanding the most. Have you experienced someone going quiet in a group setting, or witnessed one of your friends or family become irritated and angry when they have a bad day? When you pay attention to these types of changes in people’s behaviour it gives you the opportunity to ask questions like: “How are you really doing?” or “Are you ok? I noticed you seem upset.” Life is full of surprises, especially disappointing ones, and showing you care by simply listening to others’ concerns, shows them how truly kind you are.
At www.idareu2bee.com, we believe that when we pay attention to how others communicate and show emotion it allows us to support the people we care about and become greater listeners. A kind heart has kind ears to listen from and that is a gift you can give to everyone in your life.
Today we challenge you to do a KINDNESS ASSESSMENT. The assessment is simple and at times you may struggle, yet this is where your MIGHTY COURAGE kicks in.
Do not give up, do not give in because building your kindness superpowers will have you win!
Get Ready, Get Set and GROW forward with your GIGANTIC KIND HEART.
KINDNESS ASSESSMENT DAY 1
STEP 1
- Are you willing to practice paying attention when you are not being attentive towards the people you care about?
If YOU ANSWERED YES, GREAT! Scroll down to STEP 2.
If YOU ANSWERED NO, stay right here and ask yourself this question.
Why are you NOT willing to pay attention to how attentive you are to the people you care about?
Think about what may be preventing you from acknowledging when you are not very attentive to those you care about. This is not easy to do, yet we encourage you to write your answers on a piece of paper or in your journal.
STEP 2
- Sometimes noticing when you are attentive to the people in your life help you notice the instances when you are not as attentive with certain people in your life. Write both down on a piece of paper or in a journal.
AND
- Write out how being attentive can make you a kinder person.
NOW make today the start of practicing this with the people in your life and witness how being attentive can automatically activate your kindness superpowers and be the one that people come to when they need support.
