Did You Know that 78% of marine mammals are at risk of choking on plastic? Seventy-eight perfect of marine mammals are at risk of accidental deaths, such as getting caught in fishing nets. Plastic bags and other plastic garbage that ends up in the ocean kill over 1,000,000 sea animals every year.
An estimated 640,000 tonnes of the eight million tonnes of plastic that enters the oceans every year is so-called ghost fishing equipment, gear that’s either deliberately jettisoned or washed from ships or shorelines.
Left to float in the ocean it continues its deadly purpose, ensnaring unwary marine creatures who venture too close. Just like us, marine mammals can’t breathe underwater, and the most common way that entanglement kills is through drowning.

Our goal is to share with you some facts so you may be inspired to SHINE YOUR KINDNESS ON THE WORLD.
