EMPATHETIC
“Empathy is the ability to step outside of your own bubble and into the bubbles of other people.” – C. Joybell
What does EMPATHIC mean?
The definition of EMPATHIC is the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another.
Being EMPATHIC is not the easiest thing to be with others as it can be difficult to understand all the details of another person’s situation. As you begin Day 13 of our KINDolutions challenge, Being EMPATHETIC will play a BIG PART in how you participate.
Being empathic when listening to someone is simply listening without judgement and emotionally connecting to them and how they are feeling. Being empathetic when communicating with another person is speaking/responding to them in such a way that they know that you can really understand their circumstances, situations and how they feel about their life. When we can listen and interact with others in this way, it leaves another feeling like they are understood and that is truly a gift. When we do not judge their actions, especially when people do things out of fear or desperation, we help them not feel bad or guilty. Being empathic is a way we as human beings can communicate without language that shows another we care about them and that they are safe to be themselves. Being empathic is a skill like no other skill and when we develop this skill it also gives us more understanding of our own actions and feelings. As a result, we become more resilient , responsible and courageous in how we respond to life’s challenging situations.
At www.idareu2bee.com we believe that if you practice interacting with everyone with empathy, life will be less stressful. This is because most of the time the stress we have is created by how we think which is influenced by how we perceive things. An empathic view can provide you with peace of mind and let go of the need to understand and control everything, including other people. Empathy is the key to the freedom we all say we want and it is right there for us to use.
